Ingredients

Calcium

Calcium D-pantothenate (vitamin B5) is a component of normal energy metabolism and plays a role in various physiological processes in the body. An adequate intake can provide nutritional support, particularly during periods of increased stress.

Zinc

Zinc is an essential trace element and plays a role in numerous metabolic and enzymatic processes. It is involved in physiological processes that are particularly important during physical exertion, exercise, and recovery phases.

L-Lysine

L-lysine is an essential amino acid that the body cannot produce on its own. It plays a role in protein synthesis and, from a nutritional standpoint, supports the development and maintenance of bone structure. A sufficient intake can be particularly beneficial for growing horses or those under physical stress as part of a balanced diet.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 (cobalamin) is an essential B vitamin found in fermented foods and brewer’s yeast, among other sources. It supports normal energy metabolism and plays a role in cell function and nerve metabolism. As part of a balanced diet, an adequate intake can also help maintain normal heart and circulatory function—especially during periods of increased stress.

Vitamin B1

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is a water-soluble B vitamin that occurs naturally in grains, yeast, and herbs. It supports normal energy metabolism, plays a role in the physiological functions of the nervous system and muscles, and and contributes to the maintenance of normal heart and circulatory function. Ensuring an adequate intake can be particularly important during periods of increased physical exertion.

Choline Chloride

Choline chloride serves as a readily available source of choline, a vitamin-like substance with a wide range of metabolic functions. Choline plays a role in normal fat metabolism and supports the physiological processes of the liver and nervous system. In addition, it contributes maintain normal heart and circulatory function as part of a balanced diet.

Iron

Iron is an essential trace element and a component of important protein compounds in the body, such as hemoglobin. In equine nutrition, it can support normal blood formation and oxygen transport—especially during periods of high physical exertion or when there is an increased need due to dietary factors.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is an essential B vitamin that occurs naturally in yeast, grains, and plant-based foods. It plays a role in normal energy metabolism and contributes to the proper functioning of the skin, muscles, digestive system, and nervous system.

Vitamin B2

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) is a water-soluble B vitamin that occurs naturally in yeast, grains, and green plants. It supports normal energy metabolism and is involved in physiological processes related to skin, cell, and hoof metabolism. In equine nutrition, vitamin B2 is traditionally used to ensure an adequate supply of this micronutrient in a balanced diet—especially during periods of increased stress or when liver function is impaired.

DL-Methionine

DL-methionine is an essential amino acid that provides the body with sulfur, which is required for various metabolic processes. It plays a role in protein synthesis and thus supports normal muscle function and maintenance. An adequate intake can be particularly beneficial during periods of increased muscle activity or muscle metabolism.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties. It can protect cells from oxidative stress and supports normal muscle metabolism. A targeted intake of vitamin E can be particularly beneficial for providing nutritional support to muscles and aiding recovery, especially during physical exertion or exercise.

Product Questions

How many applications does one Performance Booster cover?

For large horses (standard feeding: 30 ml once daily), one Performance Booster is enough for one use. For small horses or ponies (standard feeding: 15 ml once daily), one bottle will even last for two uses.

When does the horse start to have more energy, and for how long?

It is best to administer the product 30–60 minutes before the event—that is, before the test or training session during which your horse might need extra energy.
The effects vary from horse to horse and depend on the initial condition, level of exertion, and environment. Many customers report positive effects lasting about 3–4 hours.

Can I feed my horse the Performance Booster on a long-term basis?

The energy-boosting paste for your horse is designed for single-use and should not be fed on a long-term basis. For ongoing support of high-energy horses, we recommend our Sport + (Show safe).

Is the Performance Booster an energy booster for horses?

The Performance Booster is designed as a complementary feed to temporarily supplement the diet with energy-providing and performance-related nutrients – particularly in competition and training situations.

Is the Performance Booster suitable for tournaments or training sessions?

Many customers use the booster specifically during competitions, training courses, or intensive training periods, when the horse needs more energy and needs to stay focused and “in the zone.” The Performance Booster is Show safe and can also be used at competitions.

Can I give my horse the Performance Booster if it seems "tired" or isn't moving forward very well?

If a horse appears unmotivated or shows little forward impulsion, a variety of factors may be involved (training, weather, metabolism, or feeding). The Performance Booster can be used as a short-term supplement in such situations. For longer-term support, we recommend our Sport+.

Is the Performance Booster also designed to improve endurance and stamina?

Many customers use it before activities that require stamina and a high level of performance—such as sports or longer training sessions. It provides a short-term nutritional boost with specific nutrients that are often needed in such situations. The Performance Booster’s formula combines readily available energy sources with carefully selected vitamins, amino acids, and trace elements—tailored for situations involving increased physical exertion. This combination was deliberately chosen so that the horse’s diet can be supplemented shortly before exertion—without “over-stimulating” the horse, but rather with the goal of ensuring it is ready to perform and focused.

Picky horse: What if the horse won't eat the product?

Performance Booster is a paste and is well accepted by most horses. Thanks to the dosing aid, you can administer the energy booster directly into your horse's mouth.

Is the Performance Booster permitted in competitive sports (doping)?

Yes, our product is Show safe. It does not contain any substances that are prohibited in competitive sports under current anti-doping guidelines.

Please always follow the current anti-doping guidelines (ADMR) of the FN and the FEI.

Can the Performance Booster be fed to pregnant mares?

Feeding this product to pregnant mares should always be discussed with a veterinarian beforehand. The product contains ingredients that are generally suitable for pregnant mares.
